What is insulation? & Why do I need it?
Why do I need insulation in my home? Insulation is like adding thermal underwear to your home. It keeps the heat inside your home & prevents heat from escaping.
Having a well-insulated home could save you hundreds of pounds per year.
Loft Insulation
How is it fitted?
The loft insulation that we use is called Knauf Earthwool, which is layered in between & over the loft joists, up to a depth of 300mm.
How it works
Heat rises, and in an uninsulated home, a quarter of your heat is lost through the roof. Insulating your loft, attic or flat roof is a simple and effective way to save energy and reduce your heating bills, as it stops the heat from your home escaping through the loft.
Loft insulation is effective for at least 40 years, (if left as installed) and it will pay for itself over and over again in that time.
Cavity Wall Insulation
The cavity wall insulation used is dependent on the part of the UK you live in. However, in most cases, we prefer to use Thermabead Insulation. Holes will be drilled in to the external walls of your home, the bead will be blown into the holes and coated in resin as it is blown.

How it works
If your home was built after 1920, the chances are that its external walls are made of two layers, with a gap or cavity between them. Cavity wall insulation fills that gap, keeping the warmth in, to save energy.
